Hudson Valley Takes Second Place at 2010 US Lacrosse Women’s Division National Tournament
 
The Hudson Valley regional girls lacrosse team finished second at the 2010 US Lacrosse Women’s Division National Tournament in Maryland this past weekend.  This year’s team featured girls from: John Jay, Fox Lane, Lakeland, Yorktown, North Rockland, Suffern, Rye, Scarsdale, Holy Child, Nyack, and Clarkstown South.
 
On Saturday, the Hudson Valley team beat Ohio Central 16-1 and Colorado
13-8 on the first day of tournament games. On Sunday, the girls beat DC Metro 16-9 and Eastern Lower New England 10-9 to complete the regular tournament sweep. The HV team (4-0), earned the number one seed in their bracket and advanced to the championship game against number one seeded Baltimore Metro (4-0) from their bracket in the Oneida Division.
 
The Hudson Valley team gave a valiant effort, but lost the championship game 12-10 coming back from a five goal deficit. The Hudson Valley US Lacrosse team members are: Deborah Grinhaus, Rachel Vallarelli, Sarah Scott, Melissa Hanson, Aileen Kurpis, Sammy Jo Tracy, Lauren Murray, Lindsay Scott, Anna Jeszeck, Bianca Raniolo, Lely Desimone, Erin McCabe, Taylor Moore, Meg McNally, Kelsey Davey, Casey Bocklet, Allie Califano, Lindsay Toppe, Brittany McCormack, and Terese Buechli.
