Breaking down the girls lacrosse brackets:
Class B
Favorite: Not only has Yorktown gone undefeated, but nobody has even come within three goals of the three-time defending sectional champions.
Contender: Scarsdale has won seven straight games, all by at least three goals, en route to the Southern power-league title. They have four 30-goal scorers and speed all over the roster.
Dark horse: John Jay combines the lethal scoring of Casey Bocklet (58 goals) with a very solid defense and Colgate-bound goalie Leigh Herzog. The Indians already beat quarterfinal opponent Horace Greeley 15-9.
Three players to watch: Senior center Jaimie Morrison, one of five Division I players on Yorktown, is exceptional at draw control. ... Lindsay Toppe of Fox Lane scored an area-best 103 goals and had at least eight goals in eight of her 15 games. ... Eighth-grader Lindsay Biondi of Brewster already has 58 varsity goals, including six in a game against Yorktown this year. Her sister Emily Biondi, a senior, had seven goals in the second of teams' meetings.
